Full Itinerary
This morning, your personal guide and driver will arrive at your hotel’s lobby at 8.30 AM to pick you up. First, we will drive along the Red River dyke, passing through guava and vegetable gardens, to the Ceramic Village of Bat Trang, which is located on the left bank of the Red River. Upon arrival at the village, our guide will lead you through the zigzagging maze of alleyways to learn about the manufacture of ceramic products, the villagers’ daily lives and get beautiful pottery at relatively low prices. During the walking tour, we will make stop at a local workshop to watch the process of making ceramics and you can design your own ceramic bowl or teacup (at own expenses).
We then stop for lunch with delicious local cuisine before proceed the tour to Dong Ho Village, where we discovered the Dong Ho way of painting – this is a very special and unique traditional Vietnamese art form. Images are engraved on wooden boards’ rot-proof modest size. Some large prints require more than twenty boards assembled together. The printing was done on papers of different colors, obtained from bamboo, mulberry bark or rhamnonuron (Do paper). Our last stop will be Dong Ky Village, where you can see traditional Vietnamese wooden furniture decorated with pearl inlays. After the tour, you will be escorted safely back to your hotel stay in Hanoi.

Under their expert guidance, you'll have the opportunity to create your own lacquer painting as a unique souvenir.
Next, journey to the 300-year-old Chuong village, famous for its conical hat making. Wander through the village and, depending on availability, either visit a war veteran to hear personal stories from the Vietnam War or meet other local artisans to learn about their daily lives.
Enjoy a delicious home-cooked lunch prepared by a local female artisan, immersing yourself in authentic Vietnamese hospitality. After lunch, try your hand at painting your own hat or join in the hat-making process with guidance from skilled craftspeople.
Complete your artisanal tour at the vibrant Quang Phu Cau incense village. Walk through the village center to observe family-scale incense production. Visit a household specializing in dyeing incense sticks and capture stunning photos of colorful incense bundles.
The experience culminates with a tour of the village's largest incense factory, where you'll witness the entire production process and gain insights into the lives of rural workers.
16h30: Discover the centuries-old art of silk weaving in Van Phuc Village, a tranquil settlement just outside Hanoi where this age-old craft has been passed down for over 1,000 years. Learn about the traditional techniques still practiced today and explore a beautiful rural community steeped in history.
Visit local families whose livelihoods are still rooted in the time-honored practice of silk production. Watch skilled artisans spin, weave, and dye silk by hand, and gain insight into the meticulous process involved in creating these exquisite textiles.
