Cat Tien National Park
The park lies 150km northeast of Ho Chi Minh City and 40km south of Buon Ma Thuot and straddles the border of three provinces – Lam Dong, Dong Nai and Binh Phuoc. It is an important national park located. It has an area of about 720 km² and protects one of the largest areas of lowland tropical rainforests left in Vietnam.

Unique terrain, climate and the ability to accommodate five types of forests are factors that have made Cat Tien National Park the home of a diverse range of plants and species. The Park is a range that links two types of terrains: from South Truong Son highland to the South Delta, making it rich in biodiversity resources including forest ecosystems, flora, fauna, which is characteristic of Southeast Delta ecosystems.

Cat Tien National Park (also known as Nam Cat Tien Tourist Area) is a lush green area with a diversified flora and fauna. This area has been designated as a “World Biosphere Reserve” by UNESCO, and hundreds of rare animal species are included in Vietnam’s Red Book.

Cat Tien National Park exhibits diverse topography across its three sectors. The Cat Loc sector, located in the western part of the Central Highlands, is characterized by hilly terrain, with peaks reaching 659 meters in elevation. On the other hand, the South Cat Tien and West Cat Tien sectors, positioned in the southern lowlands of Vietnam at the base of the Central Highlands, feature gentle, low hills, with the highest point reaching 372 meters above sea level.

The Dong Nai River, Southern Vietnam’s second-largest river, flows through the national park, serving as the western boundary of the Cat Loc sector and the eastern boundary of the South Cat Tien sector. The northern lowlands of the South Cat Tien sector experience poor drainage, resulting in swamps and lakes that are periodically inundated by the Dong Nai River during seasonal flooding.

Deatails itinerary:
Start the trip from 7.00 am at Nam Cat Tien National Park Centre and have a full day to discover the forest. You will trek into the rain forest and gaze into Giant Tung tree to see how big it is. You can see in your eyes the tree can cover the hands of many people. The trekking route is 8km along the ecologic route, you can see more sites of Lagerstroemia Ovalfolia (BangLang), Tetrameles nudiflora (Tung), Cycas rumphii (Thien Tue), Ancistrolandus Tectorius (Trung quan), Afzelia cyclocarpa (Go).

Next you will visit Bear and Wildlife Rescue Center and then have a cycling around Nam Cat Tien village and enjoy the beautiful of forest sceneries. Back the park centre and have lunch at the restaurant

This afternoon you will have more 10km drive and then have 5km trek through the jungle to reach Bau Sau (Crocodile Lake) for discover the sweet wild animal in the park.

You take an opportunity to contemplate the majestic beauty of ancient cedars. Also it is the time to enjoy the scenery tops which are supposed to be the poetic and lyrical blend Bau Sau water garden creates.

You will back the park centre again late afternoon.
