Visit Luang Prabang, ‘City of the Golden Buddha‘, the legendary capital of the Lan Xang Kingdom, located on the peninsula at the confluence of the Mekong and Nam rivers, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1995.

Admire the beauty of the Kuang Si waterfalls and cruise the Mekong River to discover the Pak Ou Caves, or the Thousand Buddha Caves, an important place of worship and pilgrimage for centuries.

Explore Vang Vieng, the town framed by a backdrop of karst mountains, lush forests and impressive caves, as well as Vientiane, the Laotian capital, which is home to buildings with unique architecture mixing French colonial and Buddhist temple styles such as the nationally symbolic Pha That Luang temple.

Day 01: Luang Prabang Arrival (D)
On arrival at the airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. REST after long night flight and time for yourself. Overnight in Luang Prabang

Day 2: Luang Prabang – Pak Ou Caves (B)
After breakfast, we visit Morning Market where you could see the diversity of local vegetables and cuisines. Then we visit the National Museum at the former Royal Palace, which houses a collection of artifacts showcasing the richness of Lao culture throughout the ages. We will also visit the beautiful Wat Xieng Thong with the “Tree Of Life” painting. Then we embark a cruise trip to Pak Ou Caves. We sailing upstream along the Mekong River, get to enjoy a panoramic view of the tranquil countryside as well as an interesting visit to the mysterious of Pak Ou Caves, two linked caves crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes left by pilgrims. Along the way, we stop at the small village of Ban Xanghai, where the local rice wine is distilled. Return Luang Prabang in the afternoon for overnight.

Day 3: Kuang Si Waterfalls – Hill Tribes (B)
This morning we wake up before dawn to witness and participate in offering alms to hundreds of saffron-robed monks – an awe-inspiring sight. Please tell your guide a day in advance if you wish to make an offering so he/she can prepare some food for you to hand over to the monks. This early morning ritual dates back generations in Laos. Watch the town come to life in the morning then return to the hotel for breakfast or join the locals for a bowl of delicious noodle soup after the alms giving ritual. (If you do not wish to make an offering, please keep an appropriate distance and observe the ritual in silence. Dress appropriately – shoulders, chest and legs should be covered).

After breakfast, transfer by private vehicle to Khouang Si waterfall. On the way, you can visit to the Lao ethnic minority groups – Ban Na Oune Village. Once at the waterfalls, take a leisurely hike through the national park towards the Khouang Si waterfalls and pass by the Asian bear rescue center. You will enjoy feeling the mist of the cool, turquoise waters of the different waterfalls. Swimming in the refreshing waters is possible. Return to Luang Prabang, we will visit Night Market, where you can find the variety of local products & handicraft. Overnight in Luang Prabang.

Day 4: Luang Prabang – speed train to Vientiane – city tour (B)
This morning, check out hotel, we transfer to train station to take speed train C85 to Vientiane departs at 10:05 arrives at 11:56. Meet tour guide and transfer to hotel. Afternoon, we visit the major sites of the city including the Wat Sisaket, the oldest temple with thousands of miniature Buddha statues and the former royal temple of Wat Prakeo, which previously housed the famous Emerald Buddha Image. Enroute to Lao’s national precious heritage, the famous and sacred structure of That Luang Stupa, you will have the opportunity to take some pictures of the imposing Patuxay Monument, which is well known as Vientiane’s own Arc de Triumph.

Day 5: Vientiane – fly to Pakse – Bolaven Plateaux – Pakse (B)
Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to the airport for a short flight to Pakse

Upon arrival, our guide will meet you at the airport. Then we’ll head for Saravanh province via Tateng Village. You will make a stopover en route to observe the locals making tea and coffee – have a cup of either before exploring the cultures and the way of life along the way to Boloven Plateau Area. We also visit Tad Fan waterfall.

Upon arrival at Tad Lo Waterfall, you will pay a visit to villages of Alak, Nge, Katu ethnic minority group. Return to the town in the late afternoon.
Overnight in Pakse

Day 6: Pakse – Wat Phou – 4000 Islands (B)
After breakfast, we leave Pakse and transfer to Champasak District, visit the ruins of, one of Southeast Asia’s most dramatically situated temples. We have time to explore these intriguing Khmer ruins, which are perched at the base of Mount Phu Kao. Wat Phu is one of the Lao World Heritage sites recognized by UNESCO in 2001, this wonderful archeological site of Khmer civilization dates back to the 9th century, predating the famous Angkor Wat in Cambodia. A festival of this site is held yearly during the full moon in February and attracts numerous pilgrims from all over southern Laos.

Then continue your way to 4000 Islands Region and Khong Island, which is quite relaxing in the day while pretty at night. Rest of the day is in your hands.

Day 7: 4000 Islands surroundings (B)
Following breakfast, we enjoy a visit to the surrounding countryside, and embark on a local boat tour to Don Khone, where we disembark and have the option of exploring the island by bicycle, which takes you to visit the remains of the French period and Liphi Waterfall or “the Corridor of the Devil”. We also have chance to visit Don Det, a small Island nearby Don Khone.

We return to the mainland at the fishing village of Ban Nakasang and drive further south to visit Khone Phapheng. Khone Phapheng is considered the largest waterfall by volume in South East Asia; this is a really impressive site near the Lao-Cambodian border, set within an area which is teeming with wildlife, making this area one of the most breathtaking destinations in Laos.

Day 8: Back to Pakse – fly to Siem Riep (B)
After breakfast, we transfer back to Pakse airport for flight to Siem Riep.
The tour ends.

  • Group of 10 persons and above will use separate vehicle in Luang Prabang due to UNESCO restrictions on large coaches entering downtown Luang Prabang.
